Larry Scannell

Larry doesn't believe in cloning all hitters to suit his style. He believes all hitters are different and should be treated as such. He uses video analysis as a valuable teaching tool to instill the proper mechanics and sound fundamentals. He believes in a positive mental approach, getting results and having fun.

Larry was a 1987 NCAA first team All-American, Paragon Award recipient, and a member of the U.S.A. Olympic Baseball Team. He was drafted by the Red Sox in 1987 and played 4 seasons in the Red Sox organization. He was a 3-year All-Conference, All-Region player in college and a 4 year All-Conference, All-State High School player. He was the 1984 Illinois State Player of the Year.

Larry is also the inventor of the SmartCage, PowerDriver and Motion Motivator. He is the 1990 Illinois State Bodybuilding champion and a certified personal trainer.

Tom Landry

Tom is a nationally certified instructor with the National Pitching Association (www.nationalpitching.net). Tom teaches the same techniques used by the best pitchers in baseball. Through the use of video analysis technology a pitcher will be able to develop the functional mechanics required to reach a higher level of skills to be a successful and injury free pitcher. The NPA protocol has been adopted by Dr. James Andrews at the new Andrews Institute in Florida. www.theandrewsinstitute.com.

Tom is a former pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization and has coached at the high school and AAU level. He was the Director of Clinics for Major League Baseball International teaching baseball skills to all age groups at various locations throughout Germany.

He has been an instructor for the past 20 years and has worked with pitchers currently playing at the Division I, II and III collegiate level. Tom also instructs batting and catching for both baseball and softball.

KRISTEN MAHONEY

Kristen has been giving individualized pitching instruction for the last 6 years. She enters her second year as pitching coach at UMass Lowell following a career full of honors and team success. Kristen graduated in the spring of '07 having set nine career records, including wins (70), strikeouts (598), shutouts (25), complete games (77) and innings pitched (673.0). Named captain her senior, Kristen lead the River Hawks to their first-ever Northeast-10 Conference Tournament title, where she was named the Most Valuable Player. She was also a three-time NE-10 all-star, two-time NFCA Northeast Region standout, three-time NE-10 All-Academic standout, and a member of the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic District 1 Softball Team.

Bob Mahoney

Bob has been involved with girls fastpitch softball for the past 15 years. He has been a successful head coach at the tournament level for the past 10 years, the last 7 of which have been with the Baystate Bandits organization.

When working with pitches, he stresses the importance of proper mechanics of the windmill in order to master control and gain speed. He also stresses proper mechanics in order to minimize injuries.

Bob is currently working with many young ladies in the area between the ages of 8 to 18.

Reylin Garcia

Rey brings his baseball skills to Batter's Alley from the Dominican Republic. At 15, Rey played for the Varsity and led the team in batting average, home runs and stolen bases. At the age of 16 Rey represented the Dominican Republic in an International tournament for one year in Canada.

In 1987 Rey was assigned to the Oakland Athletic Baseball Academy and was eventually signed by the New York Yankees as a free agent at age 17.

From 1988 through 1990, Rey played in the Gulf Coast League and batted .289 the first season and .340 the following season. Rey finished his professional career at double AA in the Eastern League with the Yankees.

Rey began playing fast pitch softball after his professional baseball career ended and he made the All American Team for 4 years. He was selected as the Outstanding Defensive Player in 2002 and was also nominated Athlete of the Year for the Gold Glove Award. In 2004, Rey played in the National ASA Softball Tournament and in 2005 the World Fast Pitch Tournament where he was invited to play for the USA Olympic Team as a shortstop. In 2006 the USA team went undefeated winning the Gold medal and Rey was awarded the batting title with a .583 average.
